What is It?
A food sensitivity*, (or maybe you know it as a food intolerance?)...
is an adverse reaction to certain foods we eat. This reaction is directly measured by analysing an antibody called Immunoglobulin G, or IgG, which is in association with an immune response. The reason for this may be due to microbiome imbalances, which can also lead to compromised gut linings, which can result in leaky gut. This means larger undigested particles enter the bloodstream and are attacked by our immune system. The breakdown process of this response results in inflammation that manifests in many different ways.
Food Sensitivity Testing involves analysing your body’s response to various foods to identify which ones may cause these adverse reactions. Our comprehensive lab testing can help discover other root causes of many digestive issues.
We cover a broad spectrum of sensitivities, testing against 100 or 210 different foods, depending on the test chosen.

How Does it work?
Our Food Sensitivity test is a simple home to laboratory finger prick testing service, where we will either take the sample in clinic or ship your testing kit direct to your home and ship the sample directly back to YourGutMap’s UK based laboratory.

The test requires a small sample of your blood, which is then examined for specific antibodies or other markers that indicate a reaction to certain foods.
The 210 food test also includes a hs-CRP test: This measures the concentration of high-sensitivity C-Reactive Protein, a protein produced by the liver in response to inflammation. This test is used to primarily to asses the presence of low grade inflammation, which may be indicative of various conditions including cardiovascular diseases, infections, and autoimmune disorders.

*Food Sensitivity Disclaimer:
A food sensitivity is defined as a food specific IgG response. The reaction is measured through IgG responses to foods to help overcome problems associated with adverse delayed immune reactions to food. Our company does not claim to cure any associated diseases or conditions, and always recommend consulting with a GP before undertaking our testing programmes.
